To meet again

The long grass tickled your ankles as you walked up the hill. You were in the middle of a mid sized field that was surrounded by walls of trees on three sides. On the fourth side was a cliff that looked over the large lake. Not a lot of people would swim there so it was quiet most of the time. On the top of the hill it flattened out a little and there was a medium sized tree on the top. The leaves and grass were a vibrant green as it was still summer.

From the top of the hill you were able to see the lake and far beyond it as well. It was more beautiful at night, for not far beyond the lake was a small town where you lived and beyond that were tall mountains that looked as though they could rip apart the sky if they grew just a little taller. At night the lights from the town would create a soft glow and the moonlight would shimmer on the lake's surface. Not to mention that at night there were less people out and the only thing that could be heard were the crickets that lived close by. Even though you loved it more at night it was rare occurrence for you to be here so late. Your parents weren't fond of you coming here at late hours though sometimes you would find a way to sneak out and gaze out from the hill to see the view and watch the stars.

As you approached the tree you noticed someone else was there as well. "Hey Francis!" You said to the blonde cheerily as you plopped down on the ground next to him. "'ello _____" He replied smiling at you. His blue eyes were sparkling with happiness and you smiled at this. The both of you were best friends since childhood. When Francis had moved here all the younger children thought it was amazing that someone from France would move to such a dull place like this. You had been picked on as a child and everyone hated seeing Francis approach you to say hello or ask how you were doing. You had been so happy on that first day in school. He had sat right next to you since no one else would and you were the only child who sat by themselves. However, Francis had been kind and had approached you and brought you out of the darkness. There were no more tears after he came. After that the both of you had stuck together through thick and thin. Nothing would separate the both of you because the both of you truly believed that there was nothing that could.

"So, what's up?" You asked as you leaned against the trunk of the tree, feeling the texture of the bark through your thin t-shirt. "Oh, nothing much." He said in his regular French accent. It had stayed with him over the years. You loved his accent and you were glad that all these years in (country) hadn't changed that. You stared out at the lake for a while and Francis watched with you. "So… what are we going to do once the school year ends?" You asked, looking over at your blue eyed friend. He sat there for a while. "I don't know." He replied. There were only a few months left and then you would be off on your way to college.

"What college are you going to?" Francis asked. "I don't know yet…" You replied. "Oui! _____! Why don't you apply for the college I'm going to?!" Francis shouted. He sounded so hopeful. However, he got amazing grades and could get into any collage easily. You on the other hand stayed on a B average. Francis is a straight A student. There is a high possibility that he is going to the best college he can find. "What college is that?" You asked. "I'm going to (college name)." He said, giving you a sheepish smile. "What?! That's one of the best colleges in the world! There's no way I'll be able to get in there Francis." You frown at him. "Well… the best we can do is keep in touch… But after college we can meet again can't we?" Francis asked. "Yea. I suppose…" You trailed off. A hand fell on your shoulder and you looked at Francis to see him smiling at you. You smiled back. There was nothing to worry about with him here. Nothing at all…

Six months later~

You made your way up the grassy hill. The stars were out and this was your last day before both you and Francis went your separate ways to separate destinations. Francis was already there, laying on his back at the top of the hill staring at the stars that glittered in the black ocean above. You made it to the top of the hill and laid next to him. Everything was quiet as you both laid there in silence, staring at the starry atmosphere.

"So this is it." You said finally, not taking your (e/c) eyes off the sky. "Oui." He replied in his language. "Francis… what if we don't stay in touch?" You asked, feeling a sense of dread just by thinking about it. "We will. There is no way we wont." He said. After that was more silence. Just the sound of crickets reached your ears. Minutes turned into hours and soon the clock reached 1.

"We should go." Francis said standing. You didn't want to leave, but you stood anyway. Francis lead the way back. The both of you had been so quiet tonight. It was odd. Perhaps it was because there was nothing to say that was important enough to be said within the last hours spent together. The walk was eerily quiet as the both of you walked, side by side, back to the town. Soon the lights started to come into view and as you rounded the corner, the town came into sight. You didn't want to go back just yet. You wanted to spend more time with the blonde boy. With the only person you had in common. With your best and only friend.

However, life is cruel, as well as time, and soon your house came into view. "I will see you tomorrow at the airport." Francis said. You nodded in reply. As usual the both of you exchanged a hug and you went inside your house as quietly as you could. Your parents were probably asleep. Stepping silently, you climbed up the stairs and entered your room for the last time.

The next day~

You walked into the airport and immediately saw the blonde you were looking for. You ran up to him and hugged him from behind, startling him a little. "I don't want to leave yet." You said, looking up at the blue eyed man. He smiled at you softly. "I know. I don't want to leave either." You pulled away to let him turn around and the both of you hugged properly. "I hope you make some new friends in college." Francis said, the both of you still locked in an embrace. "I hope so too, but none of them will be as cool as the one I have now." Francis chuckled a little. "I will miss you." He said, tightening his grip on you. "I'll miss you too." Suddenly the intercom came on calling for both Francis' flight and the both of you pulled out of your embrace. "I will send you a text when I'm about to board the plane. You probably wont get it until you are on so keep it on until you get it ok?" Francis said, smiling at you. You nodded, giving him a soft smile.

Picking up your luggage, the both of you walked in different directions. It took a little while, but soon you were able to board the plane. You knew Francis had already left, but you still had not received his text message. You sat in your seat, waiting as other passengers boarded. Suddenly your phone vibrated and you eagerly pulled it out of your pocket. It was from him. You flipped the phone open and pressed view message. You gasped and almost dropped your phone. You stood and walked over to where you entered the plane but the attendant closed the door. "I need to get off." You said, tears brimming your eyes. "I'm sorry, miss, you can't get off." The attendant said, a look of concern on her face. "Please, I don't want to go anymore." You said, tears still brimming your eyes. "I'm really sorry. I can't let you off. Please, take your seat we are about to take off." She said, leading you back over to your seat. She gave a soft smile. "Everything will be fine miss." She said and went over to speak on the intercom, informing everyone the plane was about to take off. Several tears rolled down your cheeks and you read the message again. 'Je T'aime'
Yay! Part 1 is done!

I've decided that I'm going to make to endings to this. A sad one and a happy one.

I'm not sure which one to make first! So if you guys want to comment below to tell me which one to make first that would be really epic!

Sorry if the ending seems rushed >.> I was really tired when I got to the end. I should have wrote the rest after I slept a little.

Anyway... there is only going to be this, maybe a part 2, depends how much depth I'm gonna put into this, and the 2 different endings.

So... I hope you guys liked this, because I love it when you like my stories it makes me happy and it makes me want to give you guys virtual cake. :3
